 A discussion of early maps of Croton Point and the "lay of the land" in the seventeenth, eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries including Haunted Hollow, the "Indian Fort," Money Hill and other early Croton Point landmarks.

Timothy C. Lloyd, Ph.D., RPA is a Principal archaeologist at John Milner Associates. He received his doctorate in anthropology from the University at Albany, SUNY, in 2002 and joined JMA’s staff in 2003. His research focus is the prehistoric archaeology of the eastern Woodlands, with further focus on mortuary archaeology, lithic analysis, GIS applications in archaeology, and the history of American archaeology. Tim has over twenty years experience in the field of cultural resource management, ten years of experience as a college instructor, and has published articles and given professional presentations on the archaeology of the Northeast and the Midwest. Tim grew up in Yorktown and has been interested in the archaeology and history of northern Westchester County for over forty years.
